Our products are classified as GEOPRODUCTS because they are integrated in Unesco Heritage territory, the Naturtejo Geopark.
The Naturtejo Geopark of Meseta Meridional, the first Portuguese geopark, integrated in 2006 the European and Global Geopark Networks. It has a territory of 5000 km2, in the municipalities of Castelo Branco, Idanha-a-Nova, Penamacor, Proença-a-Nova, Nisa, Oleiros and Vila Velha de Ródão. In this territory, part of the “UNESCO Global Geoparks Program”, geoconservation, education and geotourism are priorities, all based on a reference geological heritage.
In a region of great cultural heterogeneity, Geology is a unifying element of the territory and is used as a large scale sustainable development strategy, in a pioneering project in Portugal, planned in the medium / long term.
